Childcare (PT)

The incumbent will be held responsible for organizing and participating in recreational activities and games. They must discipline children and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior. They must be respectful of children and parents, and ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. Failure to provide adequate services may place children at risk. He or she must also support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts. The incumbent must be familiar with emergency procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor and supervise children in the day care

  • Plan activities and keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.

Required Skills

  • Computer Skills: Word Processing

  • Ability to read and comprehend documents (i.e. policy and procedure manuals); write routine reports and correspondence; speak/present in front of a small group.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Required Experience

  • The minimum requirements for this position are a One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 to 6 months of related experience and/or training.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
